Subway - Corned Beef & Turkey Reuben REVIEW
Today we head to Subway to review the new Corned Beef Reuben and Turkey Reuben.
We used the online option to preorder these to make sure they were nice and ready for us to grab and go review them. Well.. They did NOT give us a turkey one and a corned beef one as I ordered. But rather two halves of the same corned beef sandwich and charged me $3 extra dollars. AND put the kraut/Thousand Island dressing and pickles on the side, so I got to play the Subway sandwich artist home game. Not a great start.
First impressions, the good : the rye bread is tasty. It's firm on the outside and soft in the middle, as one would want and that's about where the good ends.
The bad : The corned beef was very bland and a little below the generic variety one might find in the grocery store. The Swiss cheese was there, but in more of a cameo kind of role. Very background. We got a thimble full of kraut and a bucket of thousand island, so mixing them was disproportionate and skewed the entire delicate balance of sour and savory.
Top this off w/ a $12 price tag for two 6 inch. $9 for a footlong and I have to say this is a
solid "save your money" rating. If you have a deli in your area, rest assure theirs will be better.
That's what we think, let us know what you think!
